Louis Gignac (Chairman)
Mr Gignac was appointed Chairman of Andean in July 2009. Mr. Gignac is the President of G Mining Services Inc., a private consultancy, and previously served as the President and CEO of Cambior Inc. from its creation in 1986 until its acquisition by Iamgold Corporation in November 2006. Mr. Gignac is Chairman of the Board for Gaz Metropolitan Inc. and St. Andrews Goldfields, and director of Domtar Corp. and Franco-Nevada Corporation. He held previous management positions with Falconbridge, Exxon Minerals and also served as a professor of mining engineering at Laval University. Mr. Gignac holds a Doctor of engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, a Masters in mineral engineering from the University of Minnesota and a degree in mining engineering from Laval University.
Wayne Hubert B.Sc (Chemical Engineering) MBA (Managing Director)
Mr. Hubert was previously Vice President, Corporate Development and Investor Relations with a successful Canadian based midsize gold producer with a market capitalization of approximately US$3 billion. During his 14 year career with the company, Mr Hubert gained considerable experience in the areas of finance, project development and construction, exploration and investor relations. During this period the company grew into a highly profitable, mid-tier North American gold producer as it developed the potential of its El Penon epithermal gold mine in Chile.
Ian Hume (Non Executive Director)
Mr Ian Hume has over 30 years experience in the corporate development of, and equity raising for a wide variety of resources projects. He is a former partner in BAIN & Co, stockbrokers, a former director of Ariadne Australia and was, for a number of years, a strategic consultant to the private capital group of the AMP Limited. Mr Hume is also a founding partner and current Executive Director of the US$170 Million Sentient Global Resource Fund which has offices in Sydney and Montreal.
Barry Bolitho B.Sc (Extractive Metallury) FAusIMM (Non Executive Director)
Mr Bolitho holds tertiary qualifications in both metallurgy and chemistry and has over 29 years experience in the minerals industry. During this time he has gained extensive experience with nickel, mineral sands, tin, tantalum, gold and silver. Over the last 15 years he has held a number of executive management positions in the resource sector including board positions with both producer and exploration companies. Mr Bolitho has been responsible for the development and executive management of greenfields projects in Australia and offshore and has an extensive experience base over most facets of the minerals industry including acting as an Independent Expert for a number of financial institutions.
Richard Lorson BSc (1975) and MSc (1977) in Geology from the University of Akron, Ohio (Non Executive Director)
Mr. Lorson, who is based in Reno, Nevada has had an extensive career in the resources business. His early career was spent in uranium exploration in the western US before joining FMC Minerals as a Project Geologist in 1981. Mr. Lorson subsequently worked throughout the western US in precious metals exploration and spent 3 years as the exploration manager at FMC Gold's Paradise Peak gold-silver mine in Nevada.
In January 1993 he moved to Chile with FMC to open an exploration office for gold, and during the first year in Chile the program discovered the El Penon mine in northern Chile. The mine was put into production in July 1999, and for the last 8 years has been either the lowest or one of the lowest cost gold mines in the world. Mr. Lorson was the VP Exploration from 1996-2002 for the company and throughout the development of El Penon.
After leaving the company, Mr. Lorson started a privately funded exploration company, Platte River Gold focusing on Nevada and Mexico. The company has raised more than US $21 million since its startup in 2004 and has an early development stage silver-base metal project in Mexico.
Charles Winograd
Mr. Winograd is currently the President of Winograd Capital Inc., an external consulting services and private investments company. Previously, Mr. Winograd was Chief Executive Officer of RBC Capital Markets, a position he held from 2001 to 2008. When RBC Dominion Securities acquired Richardson Greenshields in 1996, Mr. Winograd became Deputy Chairman and a director. Mr. Winograd was appointed to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of RBC Dominion Securities in 1998. Mr. Winograd held several executive postings in Richardson Greenshields until becoming President and Chief Executive Officer in 1987 and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1991. Mr. Winograd holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Mr. Winograd is currently a director of RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust, Talisman Energy, RBC Dexia, Tamir Fishman (Israel), Mount Sinai Hospital, Winograd Capital Inc. and James Richardson & Sons, Limited.
